It can be tempting to rush out to buy your dream metal barn immediately. Before you do, though, you should consider a few key things.

• Building Permits – Some areas require that you apply for and secure building permits before installing a new metal barn. For example, if you live in an area that requires you have a certified metal barn, you’ll need to check with your local government office to ensure that you’re checking those boxes as well as getting the correct permits! Otherwise, you might not be able to install your metal barn on your property. It’s best to always check with local permitting offices first!
• Site Preparation – The installation site should be selected, approved, leveled, and otherwise prepared before delivery of your prefab steel barn. Be sure to select your site with the initial size, as well as the possibility of expansion, in mind. You’ll need to clear and level your site before the installation, so get rid of debris, unlevel land, and other types of issues. Then, level out your site with plenty of room for your metal barn building.
